Our Policies are important for the safety and comfort of all our guests. By authorizing us to charge the credit card on file, the booking party agrees to the following:

OCCUPANCY:  Rates for most rooms are based on double occupancy. 2 additional guests may be accommodated in Rooms 6, 7 and 9. Extra guests are at the Rugosa’s discretion and may be subject to additional fees. State & local occupancy tax is extra.

DEPOSIT: For all reservations of three (3) nights or less, the reservation must be paid in full at the time of booking. For reservations of four (4) nights or more, a three night deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance will be automatically charged to the credit card on file at check-in. For multi-room reservations, a deposit of 20% is required at the time of booking.

CANCELLATIONS: We are a small family run guest house and cancellations greatly affect us. Should you need to cancel or change your reservation, please do so 14 days in advance of your arrival date in order to receive a refund of your deposit minus a $50 processing fee. To avoid the $50 processing fee, you may move your reservation to a future date within 1 year of the original booking date. Cancellations with less than 14 days notice will result in the full loss of your deposit (equal to the maximum of up to three nights of your stay). To avoid the full loss of your deposit, you may move your reservation to a future date within 1 year of the original booking date with a reservation change fee of $50. This includes cancellations due to COVID-19 sickness or exposure. All reservations are non-refundable after check-in. Please consider purchasing travel insurance of your choice.  We do not issue gift certificates for cancellation.

3rd PARTY RESERVATIONS: Reservations made through a 3rd party may be subject to additional fees. Additionally, cancellation policies may differ when booked through a third party. For the best rates, we recommend booking directly through our website.

CHANGES: Guests are welcome to make changes to their reservations with 14 or more days of notice. Changes with less than 14 days notice may be subject to a reservation change fee of $50 if we are able to accommodate the changes.

NO SHOW: In the event of a No-Show, your entire stay (original booking dates and all charges) will be non-refundable and the balance of the stay will be canceled. Please notify us if your check-in day is delayed to avoid cancellation. â€‹

PETS: We are proud to be a pet-friendly property! We are a house full of animal lovers and understand how special it is to be able to bring your pet along. We can accommodate visitors with well trained and well mannered dogs. We are located along busy Route 6, so we request that dogs be kept on a leash at all times while outside. Inside the house, dogs may have free-range, but we ask that you do not leave your dogs unattended in your room. If your dog is left unattended, and there are complaints from surrounding guests, you will be financially responsible for their stay as well. Please note Room 7 is a non-pet friendly room.

We allow up to 2 dogs per room. The cost is $25 per pet, per day regardless of length of stay. Please let us know in advance of check-in. Failure to disclose that your pet is staying with us will result in a fine of $50 per day in addition to the daily pet fee. You must clean up after your pet or be subject to an additional pet charge of $100.00 per clean up or damage.

We have two house dogs, Luna and Rosie. Both are sweet-natured Rottweilers who are known to hang out in the gardens or the lounge and are very good with other dogs and children.

CHILDREN: We love children of all ages at the Rugosa! For their safety, please do not allow your children to play on the grounds or in the pool area unattended. Do not allow your children to play in the driveway or parking area. We do not have cribs or baby equipment, however, we can provide information for baby equipment rental services.

In the rare event that a room or its contents are damaged due to extreme guest negligence or evidence of smoking in the rooms, we may assess a damage/cleaning fee not to exceed $500 and/or replacement charge not to exceed $1000. Guests are responsible for personal property. Rugosa is not responsible for personal property not properly secured or left unattended.  Please check your room thoroughly for personal items before leaving.
